Why an MBA will make you smarter

MBA stays for Master in Business Administration. Many of you know what you should expect from this classical course of studies. BUT many do not know. I want to try to explain why approaching this adventure can make you smarter.

There are three primary MBA types: the traditional full-time two-year MBA, the one-year counterpart, or the part-time Executive MBA formats. Five years is the minimum work experience you should have. I am currently enrolled in the 1Y_MBA at Lehigh University.

The summer semester started at the beginning of July 2021. Four topics: Quantitative Elements, Societal Shifts, Project Management Fundamentals, and Professional Development. The pace of the program is very intense because two years are condensed into one. I don’t need to go into details about assignments and papers and homework and deadlines and final exams that keep you entirely and extensively busy.

Fall Semester is divided into two sections: August to October, seven topics. Finance, Accounting, Economics and Markets, Marketing, Organizational Behavior-HRM, Professional Development, and Consulting Practicum. And again, everything I mentioned above: homework, finals, papers, researches, class participation, readings… intense!

The second half of Fall semester: Suppliers&Customers, Employees, Government &Society, Strategy, Financial Claimants, and Consulting Practicum. My brain is constantly stimulated and fed with information, food for thoughts, and valuable feedback.

I am “less than 50” years old (you don’t ask a woman her age 😁). I am an entrepreneur. I started my career as a consultant in Quality Management in Iso 9001 and 14001. I have been a lawyer for more than a decade. I launched two companies, one in education and the other in consulting. I became a partner of another company in the health field and became its CEO. I achieved the Juris Doctorate, a Master in Law, several certificates… but I still want to know more.

Suppose you are curious, despite your age or level of experience, if you feel that hunger for getting more information that will help your critical thinking, see beyond the surface of the data fed from the media. Yes, my friend, you are ready.

Get in touch with a University and discover the smarter person that is inside of you.

Am I smarter today?

I do not know. Not sure I was already smart when I came here. But I am curious and hungry.

I want to go beyond the surface, and I do.

To paraphrase Steve Jobs’ statement:

“Stay Hungry. Be curious. Become smarter!”
